Kenworth W900L Koffersattelzuges "St. Germain"

Das Modell ist von Tonkin, wird aber von Trucks N' Stuff dekoriert und exclusiv vertrieben. Es sieht schon ziemlich gut aus, wenn es aus der Schachtel kommt. Trotzdem kann man noch eine Reihe von Verfeinerungen vornehmen.

Folgendes wurde gemacht
a) bei der Zugmaschine:
- Zugmaschine zerlegt,
- Achsen gekürzt und Felgenlöcher an den Hinterrädern ausgebohrt,
- Fensterdichtungen und Grill geschwärzt,
- Fenster in der Schlafkabine und im Führerhausdach abgedunkelt,
- Innenraum mit etwas Farbe versehen und Fahrer platziert,
- Tankbänder und Sicherheitsstreifen angebracht,
- Positionsleuchten gesilbert,
- Spiegel gegen Eigenbauspiegel mit Antennen getauscht und Scheibenwischer angebracht (Abb. 1),
- Leitungen zum Auflieger angebracht (Abb. 2) und
- die Vorderkotflügel mit Blinkern und Schmutzfängern versehen.
b) beim Auflieger:
- Achsen gekürzt und Felgenlöcher ausgebohrt,
- neue, breitere Schmutzfänger angebracht und
- Beschläge und Verschlüsse an der hinteren Tür gesilbert (Abb. 3).

Some more informations about modifying the

Kenworth W900L with van trailer "St. Germain"

The model is manufactured by Tonkin, but decorated and sold exclusively by Trucks N' Stuff. It looks pretty good, if it comes from the box. Anyway, you can still make a series of refinements.

The following was made
(a) for the truck tractor:
- tractor unit dismantled,
- axles shortened and rim holes of the rear wheels drilled out,
- window seals and grill blackened,
- windows darkened in the bunk and in the cabin roof,
- interior painted with a little bit of color and driver placed on driver's seat,
- tank holder straps and security stripes attached,
- marker lights painted silver,
- mirrors exchanged for scratchbuilt ones with antennas mounted, wipers added (pic 1),
- air and electrical hoses attached (Fig 2) and
- turn signals and mud flaps attached to the front fenders.
b) for the trailer:
- axles shortened und rim holes drilled out,
- new and wider mud flaps attached and
- metal fittings and lockers at the rear door painted silver (pic 3).
