Freightliner Coronado

Die Zugmaschine ist von Tonkin/Trucks N' Stuff ganz neu herausgekommen (März 2013) und macht einen sehr guten, sowie mit ihren Spiegeln und Scheibenwischern auch vollständigen Eindruck. Der Lackauftrag ist relativ dick aber einwandfrei. Die Frontscheinwerfer sind allerdings sehr einfach ausgeführt und bei der Windschutzscheibe fehlt der Mittelsteg.

Auflieger und Container sind von Athearn.

Folgendes wurde gemacht
a) bei der Zugmaschine:
- Modell zerlegt,
- Achsen gekürzt und Felgenlöcher an den Hinterrädern ausgebohrt,
- Fensterdichtungen, Scheibenwischer und Grill geschwärzt,
- Innenraum mit etwas Farbe versehen und Fahrer platziert,
- Tankbänder, Sicherheitsstreifen und Logo angebracht,
- Mittelsteg auf die Frontscheibe geklebt,
- Antennen auf den Spiegeln befestigt,
- Leitungen zum Auflieger angebracht und
- Frontscheinwerfer leicht angesenkt und mit Bondic als "Scheinwerfergläser" versehen (Abb. 1, 2).
b) bei Auflieger und Container:
- Achsaggregat auf 3 Achsen erweitert,
- Räder gegen solche aus abgedrehten Herpafelgen und Reifen von A-Line getauscht und
- Container mit einem Washing aus verdünnter Künstlerölfarbe leicht gealtert.

Freightliner Coronado

The truck tractor is a new Tonkin/Trucks N' Stuff model (March 2013) and looks very good and rather complete with its mirrors and windshield wipers. The paint job is fairly thick but flawless. The front headlights are however very easy made and the windshield lacks the center bar of the two piece item.

Trailer and container are by Athearn.

The following was made
a) in the case of the truck tractor:
- model dismantled
- axles shortened and rear rim holes drilled out
- window seals, wipers and grille blackened,
- interior painted with some color and driver placed,
- tank straps, safety stripes and logo attached,
- center bar mounted for the two piece windshield,
- antennas on the mirrors attached,
- hoses for the connection with the trailer attached and
- headlights slightly drilled out and "lenses" imitated with Bondic (pic #1, #2).
b) for trailer and container:
- third axle added,
- wheels changed for those made from modified rims by Herpa and tires by A line and
- container slightly aged with a washing by diluted oil paint.
